Information for school groups

The Basel Paper mill offers school children the unique opportunity to go back in time and experience an earlier age. They can try out the traditional handicrafts of making paper and printing it by hand and thus learn the old methods of production. A fascinating experience!

Opening times for Groups

The museum is open on Tuesday to Sunday from 14.00 till 1700. On application guided tours for groups may be possible out with these opening times.

Prices

Groups of 10 or more persons: CHF 10.- per person
School groups( including Kindergarten), groups of apprentices and student groups: CHF 8.- per person
- Pre-school aged children: no charge
- Disabled persons with identification card: no charge (free entrance also for helpers)
- Free entrance is also granted to school, apprentice, student and disabled groups coming from the Kantons Basel-Stadt and Basel-Land.

Guided tours

A circuit through the entire museum in the company of an expert guide. Each member of the group has the opportunity to make and print his/her piece of paper. (length of tour roughly 2 hours).

Cost :
-Per group (max.25 people) CHF 220.-plus entrance fee
-Schools (max.25 people) CHF 200.- plus entrance fee

Guided tours are available in German, French, English and Italian.

Cancellation:
-14 days to 48 hours before tour begin: 50% of cost of tour
-Less than 48 hours before tour begin: 100% of cost of tour
-Non appearance on day of tour: 100% of cost of tour
-Cancellation of Tuesday 48 hours in advance is due by previous Friday at 12.00

Basel Card, Oberrheinischer Museum pass, Swiss Museum pass as well as VMS and ICOM- cards are valid.
Museums passes are only valid for the card holder.
